This entire experience caused significant inconvenience, distress, and serious concern for my family Positive: Nothing Negative: Upon arrival I found that the property was unsuitable. The house was located on a road that effectively did not exist, as there was neither an accessible road nor a proper pathway leading to it. As a result, I was forced to carry our belongings (3 huge suitcases, stroller) through muddy - snowy terrain in order to reach the accommodation. In addition, the property itself was in a clearly unsafe and inappropriate condition. There were loose nails scattered around, pieces of cut wood left exposed, and there were no protective railings in place, it was a working site. I would like to emphasize that this booking was made for my family, including my 3 year old child, and therefore such conditions are entirely unacceptable and pose a serious safety risk. After transporting all of our luggage, I discovered that the door access code provided did not work. Following multiple unsuccessful attempts, I contacted the property manager, who came to assist. Together, we confirmed that the door code was indeed invalid and did not grant access to the property. Upon realizing both the dangerous condition of the property and the issue with the door access, and after seeing that I was traveling with a young child, the property manager offered to arrange alternative accommodation for us. We had to wait several hours in freezing artic cold before being able to move to the new property. The alternative accommodation provided was significantly different and of clearly lower standard than the one I had originally booked. According to your platform, its listed value was approximately €250 less. It was an older outdated apartment which was in an extremely poor state of cleanliness. The apartment had clearly not been cleaned: there was dirt, dust, stains, and general uncleanliness throughout. We immediately informed the property manager about the condition and he assured us that the difference in price, as well as any related matters, would be resolved. Unfortunately, this never happened..

WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN OR BOOK THROUGH THESE AGENTS Negative: From my knowledge to this day, property does not & has not ever had a permit for use from the Municipality. Currently under investigation by Booking.com. Arctic Homes are aware, however continue to rent it out without permit. If you have stayed here perhaps you are entitled to a refund. If you plan to stay here, be aware of the risks as if anything should happen you are staying in a property which doesn't have a permit & therefore in illegal operation. Details of the property can be found via Tromso Kommune, farm & farm number 200/228 shows information, including building without permit, being issued with a stop work order, a fine of NOK75,000 to the owner, & NO PERMIT FOR USE. We left after 1 night. Lead up to the property is not paved & has a very steep incline. Covered in a hill of ice making it impossible to walk on, & with suitcases, even in dry weather, this area is undulated. No balcony railings, only a frame which I believe does not align with safety regulations, very easy to slip off the balcony particularly in winter where ice builds up & agents don’t maintain it. Electrical cord along external front of balcony - a safety issue & a major tripping hazard. Bedrooms are tiny, one is like a jail cell. “Attic” is not like photos advertised, it is a crawl space doesn't even allow for kneeling height. Ladder leading up is steep & blocks the hallway when in use. One bed was full of hair. Limited space to open suitcase, no blinds in bedroom side window. Agents of this property are mentioned in almost every review which should ring alarm bells, because the sign of a good property is that the agents should never need to be called. First they are “polite” & then turn on you rudely. They will respond to this review saying they offered us another property & that we were unreasonable because of the weather. Truth is the alternative offered wasn't suitable, they refused to provide refund or respond to booking.

Excellent, we loved every minute :-) Positive: We had a problem. We arrived at 1am and could not open the door. We spent an hour trying, and also calling every phone number we could find. I obviously wasn't very hopeful given the small hours over 200 miles into the arctic circle, and I was considering sleeping on the porch with my 14yo daughter and 16yo son, but headed down the road to see if I could find a hotel. However, the guys managing the property then returned my calls around 2am and whilst they coudn't fix the door, they could offer us another property. 15 minutes later we were warm and cosy and had a great nights sleep just down the road. The next morning they called me and I met them at the property, and gave me a workaround to the issue with the door. They kept in touch over the next few days, and even stopped for a chat when they saw me in the street. I don't leave reviews very often, but I always say true customer services isn't when eveything is going great, but when there are issues. These guys were truly outstanding when we had a problem, and I'd very happily recommend them.

Positive: The location is outstanding: within just a few minutes on foot, you reach the centre of the city, while the slightly elevated setting of the house offers an impressive view of Storsteinen. In the mornings, natural sunlight fills the living room, creating a particularly pleasant and uplifting atmosphere. The apartment itself is comfortably warm, well equipped and stands out for its good value for money compared to similar accommodations in Tromsø. Compared to a hotel, the house offers a far more authentic experience, giving you the feeling of truly living there rather than simply visiting as a tourist. Communication with the hosts was seamless throughout the stay, they were consistently accessible and responded promptly and reliably to any inquiries or requests. Should I visit Tromsø again, I would not hesitate to book this accommodation again.
